Every creative person really needs to watch this video by Zack Arias. It’s directed at photographers, but it applies to everyone. I just watched it three times in a row. Great great stuff. (Don’t get dissuaded by the first minute or so… it starts out cheeky, but gets then gets really serious.)
Yup, this is good stuff right here. I think any artist, whatever your field will relate to this.

One of the finest singers & songwriters out there IMO & a top fella to boot. Proud to call him a friend. Can’t wait for the new record. I very much encourage you all to sit with this guys songs for a while, and hopefully it’ll enrich your life in the same way it has mine.
